Delete your account

Option 1 — From the MarketApp Android app (recommended)

1. Open the MarketApp app on your phone.
2. Tap the settings icon (the slider button in the top-right of the Home screen).
3. Scroll down to the Danger zone section.
4. Tap Delete account.
5. Confirm in the dialog by tapping Delete forever.

The app will re-authenticate you, wipe your data from our servers and your device, and sign you out — all in one step. The whole flow takes about 10 seconds.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app (uninstalled, lost device, signed-out account, etc.), email us at:

Include in your message:

• The email address you used to sign in to MarketApp
• The subject line "Account deletion request"
• A brief confirmation that you want your account permanently removed

We process email deletion requests within 7 business days and will reply once your data has been removed. We may ask you to confirm ownership of the email address before we proceed.

What gets deleted

• Your account record (Firebase Auth UID, email, display name, profile photo)
• Every product you tracked, including target prices and notification preferences
• Your local price history for those products
• Your saved payment-profile preferences (bank cards, Prime status, EMI tolerance)
• Your push notification token, so we stop sending you alerts
• Your watchlists

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Once your account is gone, we cannot restore your tracked products, alert history, or any other data tied to your account.

What is retained (and why)

• Anonymous community price history. Prices contributed by your device are never tagged with your identity — they live in a shared dataset keyed only by product ID. After account deletion this data stays so other users still benefit, but it cannot be traced back to you.
• Aggregate analytics events (counts of taps, alerts, sessions) that were already anonymized when collected.
• Crash reports and diagnostic logs, retained up to 90 days for debugging.
• Records we must keep to comply with applicable laws (e.g., tax records of any past Amazon affiliate transactions you contributed to).
